Chariman of the Management Board of Gazprom Alexey Miller and the President of the Republic of Serbia Boris Tadić Visited NIS Pančevo Oil Refinery

Chairman of the Management Board of OAO Gazprom Alexey Miller and the president of the Republic of Serbia Boris Tadić visited NIS Oil Refinery in Pančevo.

During the visit to the Refinery, Alexey Miller and Boris Tadić took part in the official opening of a new control room for integrated management of operational sites of NIS. Also, Alexey Miller and Boris Tadić were informed about the progress of construction works which are conducted as a part of the modernization project of the NIS refining complex.

On that occassion Alexey Miller pointed out: «Today NIS is the most successful company in Serbia. The company undertakes the modernization of its refining capacities, has a stable growth of profitability and has started the realization of an ambitious program of regional development which also includes cooperation with the members of EU. I would like to point out that NIS is a crucial element of cooperation between Serbia and Gazprom group in the energy sector and we believe that our previous experience of a successful partnership will provide an opportunity to continue to efficiently implement new projects which shall be beneficial both to Russia and Serbia, and also to Europe».

Witnessed by Boris Tadić and Alexey Miller an Agreement on Strategic Cooperation between Republic of Serbia and company NIS in the area of increaseing the efficiency of production and financial stability of the petrochemical company HIP «Petrohemija» was signed. The agreement was signed by NIS CEO Kirill Kravchenko and Minister of Economy of the Republic of Serbia Nebojša Ćirić.
