NIS and Vojvodina government signed a Memorandum on cooperation in the field of geothermal energy

NIS and Vojvodina Government will cooperate to develop geothermal energy sources.

The Memorandum on Cooperation was signed on 14 November 2011 by Kirill Kravchenko, General Manager and the Prime minister of Vojvodina Government Bojan Pajtic. The aim of this cooperation of NIS and the Province will be to analyse the exploitation and development of this type of renewable energy, promote investments based on most favorable terms, balanced regional development and development of local potentitals, providing conditions for the access to European funds, production of thermal energy, providing incentives to and development of agricultural production, sports, recreational and spa toursim, etc. The development of alternative energy sources is one of the key areas of the NIS Strategy, and fits into the plan of European integrations of Serbia and global tendencies of environmental protection and sustainable development. Both partners to this agreement will jointly participate in the further elaboration and implementation of the strategy, plans and projects, as well as on the identification of the dynamics of their realization.
